WEEK 8

Entering the contest

OBJECTIVE: To finalize the project and enter the NASA Space Settlement Design Contest

CONTENT AREAS: Evaluate the solution and consequences; Understanding about Science and Technology; Nature of scientific knowledge.

Congratulations, you are ready to enter the NASA Space Settlement Design Contest! We recommend you go back and review the material from the previous 7 weeks to make sure you have not left anything out. You should have:

• Your written report explaining your design.
• Illustrations of your design.

Here are suggestions for members of your group:

• PROJECT MANAGER: Conducts a group meeting. The whole group go over the report, illustrations and do the final editing. Gathers all the materials and fills the entry form for the NASA Space Settlement Design Contest. Hand all the materials to the teacher, or if this is an independent project mail it to NASA:

• SCIENTIST: Checks the report for scientific accuracy, and makes sure nothing essential is left out.
• ARTIST: Finalizes outside and interior illustrations. Provides additional illustrations if the group feels it is necessary.
• RESEARCHER: Goes back to 7 previous lessons to make sure all the materials are included in the written report.
• PROJECT MANAGER/EDITOR:Types the final report.
• Take the Final Quiz

Teachers:

Remember no electronic materials except VHS video in NTSC format are accepted at this time. All of the materials must be in hard copy. You may want to use the rubric as an aid for evaluation purposes if this project is graded. Mail the entries with the entry form for the NASA Space Settlement Design Contest to:
