Space Settlement Design Contest 2006 Results


This year we received 96 submissions from 547 students sponsored by 33 teachers. Entries came from Belgium, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Turkey, The United Kingdom and 17 states: California, Florida, Georgia, llinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusettes, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.


Grand Prize

The grand prize went to Alexander Bridi from Brussels, Belgium for his submission, Vademecum [PDF file]. Alexander is a student of Mr. Parry from the European School of Brussels III in Brussels, Ixelles, Belgium.

Congratulations for an outstanding research project.

Note: for the rest of the prizes there were individual, team (consisting of 2-6 students) and large group awards for two groups: 6-9th grade and 10-12th grade. Team names are listed by submission.

Errata: Due to an oversight on judging day, we did not create a Life Support category as indicated. We sincerely apologize to any contestant who was hoping to place in this category and hope they received recognition in one of the other categories. A concerted effort will be made next year to insure that this does not happen again.
