Space Settlement Art Contest - Mars Orbital Stations

Mars Orbital Stations

by Leonardo Ceballos
Category: Orbital or Martian Settlements

Description: These self-sufficient, semi-permanent stations form a ring around Mars. Each is home to several hundred people who live, work and play in space. As the full scale colonization of Mars draws closer, these early settlements serve as construction yards, loading docks, and permanent home for the workers, engineers and scientists who will make it happen. Eventually better stations will be built and large numbers of people will settle on Mars, but history will remember these as the first Martian citizens.

Medium/Tools Used: The designs were first sketched out on paper, then built in 3D with lightwave and rendered with FPrime. Compositing and final details in Photoshop.
