FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Send Your Millennial Message to the Moon with the National Space Society Washington, DC, January 14 - Join the National Space Society (NSS), or renew your membership in NSS in 2000 at the $200 level or higher, and you can send your thoughts, wishes and dreams for the future to the Moon on the first commercial mission to the Moon scheduled for launch 2005. As a leading advocate of commercial space development NSS is offering this Year 2000 member benefit in collaboration with Applied Space Resources (ASR). ASR's Lunar Retriever Mission, is currently scheduled to be the world's first commercial mission to the Moon with launch slated for 2005. Lunar Retriever is designed to return lunar regolith for use by researchers and commercial customers; to market data including imagery; to capitalize on the unique opportunities for science education presented by lunar missions and to demonstrate the viability of privately-funded space exploration. If, for any reason, the Lunar Retriever Mission is not launched, NSS will negotiate to send NSS members' Millennial Messages to the Moon on the next available commercial mission.
