National Space Society to Co-Sponsor 10th Mars Society Convention
LOS ANGELES, CA. The National Space Society is proud to announce that it has joined NASA and The Planetary Society as co-sponsors of the 10th International Convention of The Mars Society, to be held Thursday, August 30 through Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the University of California, Los Angeles. UCLA is located 12 miles north of LAX, just west of Beverly Hills.

Many others will present at the convention, covering topics ranging from the hunt for extremophiles on Mars, to the 2007 Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (FMARS) season, to ethics for a new world. In addition, a wide range of track talks, evening entertainment, and the annual banquet and awards dinner will keep attendees entertained. Convention registration rates are $210 plus a separate $50 Mars Society membership, or $270 for a non-member. One ticket to the Saturday Awards Banquet is included.
A reduced rate is offered for students and seniors at $70 plus a separate $25 Mars Society membership, or $105 for a non-member. A ticket to the Saturday Awards Banquet can be purchased separately for $50.
Convention lodging is at the Sunset Village dormitory, directly adjacent to the event facilities. Rooms are upscale, with air conditioning, satellite television, private bath, daily maid service and a high-speed Internet connection. Each room has either two twin beds or one queen upon request. Breakfast and lunch are included with room registration. Rates are $126 per night single occupancy or $151 double occupancy.

In addition to convention registration, you can book lodging for the event, additional banquet tickets, or daily parking passes. The registration system accepts Visa/MasterCard and PayPal transactions. You can also download a fax or mail-in form for other payment options. On-line registration will close on Monday, August 27, so all pre-registrations must be received by then, but on-site registration and single day passes will be available at the registration table.
