Venus Express is Off!
Europe's Venus Express orbiter lifted off successfully today - congratulations to ESA and best wishes for a great mission! More information on the mission from the Associated Press, New Scientist, and the BBC.
Europe's first mission to Venus should arrive in April 2006, and then spend at least a year and a half using its array of detectors to examine the planet from orbit.
