Margaret Jordan is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Space Society (NSS).

Ms. Jordan now serves the National Space Society as an at-large member of the NSS Board of Directors and a member of the awards committee. Ms. Jordan has long been an advocate of the goals and vision of the Society, having served in previous years as a member of the NSS Board, and on the Executive Committee as a Vice President and as Secretary of the organization. She also served many years as a chapter member, activist, and Board member with the Southern California OASIS chapter.

Ms. Jordan has more than eighteen years of professional experience as a space systems engineer. She has been involved in systems engineering and system test of satellite ground system software, software systems reliability analysis and software mission support. In addition, Ms. Jordan has experience with space hardware systems engineering, which includes low Earth orbit telecommunications support, commercial and civil space strategic planning, commercial space system cost modeling and technical feasibility analysis, mission analysis and planning, commercial space business development, and microgravity materials processing experimental design and integration, and space-qualified military hardware production.

Currently, Ms. Jordan is on educational sabbatical, completing a graduate program in physics, with an astrophysics focus. She received a B.S. in physics from the University of California at Irvine, and additional job-related training in the following areas: C++ programming, design for competitiveness, space systems engineering and orbital mechanics. She is an amateur astronomer, and a high-power rocketry enthusiast.

Ms. Jordan, above all, serves the NSS with a shared goal and commitment to bring the vision of human communities in space to reality.
